Entrepreneurs dedicated to thoughtful ownership and long-term growth.

Patti has spent her life in and around family-owned businesses. She grew up in her family’s real estate development business, where she saw firsthand the persistence required to build a company from the ground up. She later spent nearly a decade advising founder-led businesses across North America and Asia on succession planning, growth, and building the systems needed to scale. Prior to Rainy River Partners, Patti founded Birchbury Canada, which members of her family continue to operate today.
Healthcare is also personal to Patti. Her partner is a cardiologist who has dedicated his career to improving patient outcomes. Seeing that commitment up close has shaped how she thinks about healthcare as an interconnected system, where the businesses that support providers and keep facilities running safely and reliably play an important role in the quality of care patients receive.

Will has spent his career advising and investing in small private businesses. Through his work with healthcare provider organizations, he saw firsthand how much they depend on the service businesses that keep their facilities running safely and reliably.
His experience investing in and working alongside healthcare businesses also shaped his views on ownership. He came to believe that building great companies often requires a longer-term perspective than traditional investment timelines allow, and that patient, long-duration ownership can better support the people, customers, and investments that make these businesses successful.
On a personal level, healthcare has also touched Will’s life in meaningful ways, reinforcing his desire to contribute to the system by supporting the essential businesses behind it.
